recent endevours..

"Koi" 7x10" watercolor. Pending. I decided to finally get back to painting some fun things and learn how to handle watercolors finally. I use Windsor & NewtonArtists paints the most, and have the 2 Yarka St Petersburg sets of 24 each, but I still get drawn to the WN cuz I like how they handle better. The Russian paints will just haveta have thier own session sometime.

"Call Waiting" 7x10" watercolor. Sold. This little lady sold within a few minutes on putting her on facebook and was the first to sell. Again, a mini learning painting but she was alot of fun to do. She went to a collector of Mermaids, Thank you Leslie  :)

"Leslie's Reef"' 7x10" watercolor. Sold. Special request by Leslie to suprise her with another, only guidelines were that it "be flowing and have purple in it" This one just makes me smile back at her playfulness :)

new painting

This is a 7 x 20 (I think!) oil painting on canvas, a custom job for a freind. I havent painted eagles in probably 15 years but still remembered how. This took an hour to do since it's so small.

"2 AM Calling" Oil on Canvas

Well this baby is finally done! It took a total of 7 hours to complete. It was actually the Hubby's gift last year but none of the shading  & glow was done on it cuz life got away from me and the oil paints sat waiting all year due to a commission mural that needed my spare time. Now it's time to get back to painting for my house lol and the 2012 xmas cow painting lol. For the record hubs is very hard to buy for but has a cow obcession much like my horse one, so all he ever asks for is a cow painting but he's easy to please that way. Other paintings coming I cant show till after xmas lol. I hope to have some better pics of the mural then too

a sampling of jewellry

This is the Jaguar Dreams piece I designed awhile ago. It is one of a kind with leopard jasper stones, green glass beads and sterling silver findings. The Jaguar centerpeice is sculpted and painted by myself out of Super sculpey clay. I wanted to give the illusion that he was just hanging out in the jungle vines. In the pics it looks like he's "eating" the vines but in reality they wrap around the back of his shoulder.

An annoucement & an update!

My apologies that I havent kept this blog up very well. All that is about to change though, as of June I will once again be home full time instead of always working off the farm. I will be starting my own buisness of which art will be a major part of it. Please ignore the date on the oil painting, it is actually the 2011 XMAS painting for hubby. This 6 hours progress and once it's dry I can add the light and shadows from the lantern. This was his special request that it be of him and his favorite cow, and that he be in his Carharrts lol. I plan to finish it when I get a free weekend but havent gotten to yet. The other pics are a custom job that was alot of fun to do- it's not everyday I get to paint something funny! The outhouse project was done in outdoor latex paints and took 4 hours to complete. It is at a family-and-freinds campground and gets alot of laughs

new adventures

An update on the creative endevours going on round here. So far things have been quiet. Still have 3 orders to go and a painting for my son to get through. And I wanna have em all done by the time riding season starts. Which means I should get crackin.... Hope to have some pics coming soon, but will see.
Managed to get some art supplies but still lackin in some things. But what I did get was some gesso, some black gesso, and some Liquid Black, which should help for the storm paintings I like doing. But I havent had a chance to try any of it out, and still have all the panels sitting against a wall, waiting to be gesso'ed. Perhaps when things settle down I'll have more time to goof off in the 'unpaid projects' lol.

Finis!

Here it is, all done finally. Added in the final touches yesterday. Already planning my next endevours, which are some custom requests, and with any luck wont take long.
My big artsy news was trying out the process of making my own panels, who knew it was so simple! Now the skies the limit cuz I wont be held back by how expensive stretched canvas is. ( I hate/refuse to paint on canvas boards). Hopefully it's something I'll enjoy, most likely cuz it's not that different than a sawblade.
